What you’ll do:

  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare budgets, ensure compliance, provide documentation for audits and implement accounting policies.
  • Operations & Financial Control: Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, Develop and maintain internal control policies and manage the company’s liability insurance policies
  • Strategic Financial Management: Provide comprehensive financial updates, Guide financial decisions by applying company policies, Lead the strategic review of all upcoming contract renewals, Perform detailed financial analyses and manage the budgeting process.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Directly manage and oversee the accounting team, Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth and collaborate with the operations team.
  • Technology & Process Improvement: Implement and utilize accounting software and systems to streamline processes and monitor and analyze accounting data to improve financial performance.

Details you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a small to medium-sized company, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of construction accounting, and project-based accounting is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in accounting software and systems, with a keen aptitude for learning new technologies.

  • Great & assist all visitors to the model home
  • Ensure model homes are clean and inviting
  • Obtain & record guest information
  • Communicate current options & information
  • Follow up with prospective homeowners
  • Keep model homes stocked with supplies
  • Set appointments for the New Home Specialist
  • Report traffic and sales activity

What you'll do:

  • Review and release purchase orders for each job according to the home schedule in the software system.
  • Review and maintain bill of materials as needed.
  • Review completed home budgets versus actuals within 45 days of closing. Identify any overages and explain why they exist. Adjust base house budgets, as necessary.
  • Develop and implement new systems as required to improve on cost control and accuracy (such as new builder software or purchase order system).
  • Set up option costs for new communities prior to the start of marketing for sales.
  • Keep software system up to date for options with pricing for the sales team.
  • Review invoices within 2 business days that have been flagged for overages, research the cause, adjust, or approve as necessary.
  • Prepare cost comparisons for new or updated bids that are received.
  • Review bids for existing materials ensuring that they are up to date and accurate. When approved price increases have been receive, input into software system.
  • Order and ensure the accuracy of appliance orders for price, color, and model number. Ensure software system has accurate pricing for sales.
  • Distribute plans, specifications, and related correspondence to trade partners as needed. Maintain record of distribution.
  • Assist with architectural plan revisions and monitor their progress to ensure approval by projected start date.
  • Complete cabinet layouts for each home released for start in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain and ensure that the marketing department has the latest files for home designs for brochure purposes.
  • Track, process and request all rebates and model home discounts from vendors and manufacturers. Keep rebate contracts up to date.

What You'll Do:

  • Organization of all construction activity, including updating schedules.
  • Review job sites to enforce scheduling and the quality of workmanship and ensure that the house is delivered to the customer within the time specified and in an acceptable condition established by the company.
  • Act professionally and courteously when dealing with coworkers, trade partners, inspectors or homeowners.
  • Order, calculate, and schedule delivery (or return) of materials and supplies as needed.
  • Obtain government inspections as needed and represent the company at such inspections.
  • Liaison with utility companies regarding installing and activating gas, water, electric, and sewer services.
  • Ensure that assigned communities are orderly and that unwanted waste materials are managed appropriately and timely.
  • Follow company guidelines on the timeline of construction.
  • Ensure weekly calls are made to each homeowner during construction. Communication with homeowners continues throughout the construction process and warranty period.
  • Maintain the appearance of Model and/or Move-In-Ready Homes in assigned communities.
  • Provide day to day production supervision and training to production assistants (Laborers), as assigned.
  • Supervise construction sites, addressing safety concerns immediately. Ensure that hazards are marked and managed according to guidelines.
  • Perform warranty work requested by homeowners within company guidelines.
  • Monitor and evaluate construction materials and expenses, ensuring cost control methods are used.
  • Ensure all homes under construction are secured, thermostats are set to company guidelines, and lights are turned off at the end of each day.
  • Develop and nurture trade partner relations to ensure open communication and feedback is exchanged without conflict.
